Singing and playing piano, horse-riding, gardening, reading. I am a member of Delta Kappa Gamma, an international society for key women educators, and a member of the Southey Red Hat Beauties. I also volunteer regularly for Dress for Success, an international organization devoted to assisting financially disadvantaged women to enter or re-enter the work force, as well as providing additional support once these women are employed.

How long have you been involved with Univera? 6 years

Favorite Univera Product:
RegeniCARE. It has allowed me to be very physically active with little or no discomfort.

Why is Serve First important to you?
As I have learned more about Serve First, it has come to mean a great deal to me. Serving others is a joy for me, and I am proud to be associated with a company that values and encourages serving others. When I am sharing with people about what Univera is and does, I always try to include our commitment to giving back through Serve First. People seem to be impressed that a company would have this kind of desire and commitment.

How did you feel when you found out you were chosen for this trip?
When I first found out that I had been chosen to go on the annual Serve First trip I was so excited that I almost fell of my chair. I started shouting, “I’m going to Honduras! I’m going to Honduras!” I could hardly believe it!

What are your expectations about the trip?
I am expecting a life-affirming experience from this trip. I expect affirmations about the positive difference that Univera is making in the lives of nutritionally-deprived children and their families. I expect to be affirmed in the rightness of continuing to do whatever I can, personally, to make a difference in the lives of those within my sphere of influence through the giving of myself and the resources available to me. I expect to be affirmed about how blessed I am to be able to experience such a trip.

How are you physically, mentally and emotionally preparing for this trip?
In preparing for this trip, I am more motivated than ever to be in shape physically, mentally, and emotionally. It is my intention to be very consistent with my physical regime, my meditation times, my service opportunities, and my Spanish studies.
